In keeping with the requests of the fans of this movie we have posted the artwork from the original website onto this, our new Wearing Hitler's Pants site. At the time of the original our web designer guided the user from page one to page two through the use of a rollover button, however, this time we have opted to post both pages together and all that is necessary is for the reader to continue with the inspiration of the story is to scroll down and you will see the second page of this information.
Wearing Hitler's Pants has been described as a Dramady, a Black Comedy, a Farce, a Satire, a Drama, a dumb movie, a smart movie, a docu-drama, a parallel to what was going on with the Bush Administration at the time the movie was made.., a Black-Hole Comedy, an allegory for the dying American middle class, a Mexican standoff, a Shakespearean rip-off, absurd and useless, as well as extremely relevant - and all that was just with my mom! This posted YouTube video is a scene from the movie and it demonstrates the general tone of humor (or lack of) throughout the piece. In it, Randolph, a "brother" who takes it upon himself to show up and audition for the part of Adolph Hitler for a play to be presented in Hollywood. He articulates his position on the subject rather well by declaring that "Evil is evil, it's like an STD..." Wearing Hitler's Pants has been considered a bit of an actor's showcase in part due to the clever use of language but mostly due to the great "naturalistic" performances played out by the actors throughout the story. I think that one of the most relevant comments made about the making of Wearing Hitler's Pants was - we were "making the contemporary reality style of shooting into a movie form." That is exactly what I had set out to do. One of the greatest complements I get is when people indicate they believe the entire project was improvised by the actors. Trust me, they all had to say mouthfuls. scripted mouthfuls, yet, at the same time the nonsensical reality style of the piece required a believable showing of the characters... Wearing Hitler's Pants is like a reality show gone seriously astray...
Page two from the inspiration for the story of Wearing Hitler's Pants continues below.
I got my balls busted a bit due to my somewhat crass "dead guy's part" reference in this, one of the original web pages designed to promote the movie... Truth is, at the time it was, admittedly, a somewhat strange attempt to have one last "crack" or joke with my suddenly deceased friend. If I wrote the information for the artwork today, I'm not sure that I would make the same attempt at humor. Regardless, I'm certain Mr. Black understands.
